The YBI Global Youth Entrepreneurship Summit, which took place in September 2013, gathered YBI members, youth entrepreneurship champions, policy experts and and involved citizens from around the world to discuss solutions to the challenges faced by young entrepreneurs.
Combining the three yearly meeting of all YBI network members with a huge external conference, the Summit brought together more than 400 people from 50 coutries to London, the largest event of its kind anywhere in the world.
The theme of the Summit was “Business as UNusual” – reflecting the disruptive nature of entrepreneurship as well as the significant shifts that need to happen before we can achieve our task. Members of the YBI network understand that the old approaches to youth employment creation have failed and governments, big business and policy makers have failed to act with the necessary speed to head of the youth unemployment epidemic.
