9 November 2009
Youth Business International has teamed up with
Global Entrepreneurship Week to discover who the general public
thinks is the best young entrepreneur of 2009.
At www.unleashingideas.org/ybi
you’ll be able to find out about the 12 shortlisted finalists drawn
from 40 countries for the ‘People’s Choice’ award. To help you
decide which entrepreneur should get your vote, each entrepreneur
has a one-minute video on each young entrepreneur, showcasing their

The poll is part of Youth Business International’s 2009
Entrepreneur of the Year award, which showcases the best young
entrepreneurs from around the world. Hailing from a wide range of
countries, from Syria to Sri Lanka to Scotland, the 12 shortlisted
entrepreneurs embody the spirit of enterprise: demonstrating
innovation, creating jobs, and helping to develop their local
communities.
The People’s Choice poll launches today and will close at 3pm on
16 November, the first day of Global Entrepreneurship Week - the
world’s largest celebration of entrepreneurship. The winner will be
announced later that evening at the YBI Entrepreneur of the Year
awards dinner at St James’s Palace, hosted by The Prince of
Wales.
Deborah Meaden, entrepreneur and star of BBC’s Dragon’s Den,
says: “The shortlisted entrepreneurs in this year’s YBI
Entrepreneur of the Year competition have done fantastically well
so far to turn their idea into a successful business. Let’s
celebrate their success – I urge you to watch their videos and vote
for who you think should win the People’s Choice award!”
Deborah Meaden, along with three other judges, will be
interviewing the four finalists in the YBI Entrepreneur of the Year
competition and deciding who is the overall YBI Entrepreneur of the
Year. But don’t wait for the judges to make their decision – tell
us now who you think should win the People’s Choice award!
