Faiza, a former high school teacher with more than 20 years of experience, is dedicated to helping young people with special needs. For the past four years she has successfully mentored Manal Alazory, a young entrepreneur who is deaf.

Faiza, who grew up with children with disabilities, studied teaching and then special needs education. “I read about mentoring which is a powerful personal development and empowerment tool,” said Faiza who communicates in English, Arabic and Sign Language. Faiza, who is CEO of the Deaf Women’s Club of Jeddah, raises awareness around the struggle deaf women face in finding private sector employment. She has sought ways, together with TCF, to support them and provide help and encouragement for, amongst others, aspiring young women entrepreneurs.

Faiza received a “Highly Commended” award in YBI’s Mentor of the Year category. Read her full case study here.
