Emprecrea was developed by Kolping Uruguay in 2005 as a programme specifically designed to help disadvantaged but enterprising young people who lack opportunities.
Kolping Institution was established in Uruguay in 1985 and is a social, Catholic organisation, part of Kolping International. The overall goal is to support young people who want to become entrepreneurs but do not have the resources to start a business.
Through Emprecrea, young people get the opportunity to start or grow their business, improve their income and their families, thus achieving social and economic inclusion. The support offered through Emprecrea includes training, access to finance and mentoring.
Emprecrea Programme: Supporting disadvantaged or vulnerable young people with an entrepreneurial spirit that do not have the means or resources to initiate and / or develop their own business, by helping them in their personal development and to access decent incomes as a means of improving their quality of life and that of their families in order to enhance social and economic inclusion.
